National Insurance hike dropped!

15 Mar 2017

The Chancellor has reversed his decision to increase NI!
Plans to increase National Insurance levels for the self-employed, as announced in the March 2017 Budget Statement, have been scrapped! This is great news for the self-employed, as it was unfair to suggest that hard working business owners were benefiting by paying lower NI, as compared to employed people. The risks of working for yourself are much higher, and of course benefits such as holiday pay are not available to those working for themselves. There has to be some recognition towards this, and it is good news that the planned NI hikes will now not go ahead. It leaves us asking, what are the next policies to be scrapped?!
