Apr 1960
Brading Barber partnership was formed across Wilts and the South West of England.
Jun 1974
Rex Charlton heads up the new Devizes based office.
Sept 1984
Charlton Baker is born out of a Brading Barber reconstruction.
Aug 1996
Scott Sartin, our current CEO joins Charlton Baker.
Aug 1997
Elliot Cargill, our current Practice Operations Director joins Charlton Baker.
Mar 2003
Acquisition of our Pewsey office, formerly Diana Hughes ACCA.
Apr 2005
Charlton Baker Partnership is formed between Rex Charlton and Scott Sartin.
May 2006
Our new bookkeeping division, Freetime Bookkeeping Services is formed.
Apr 2008
Fixed Fee policy is introduced, scrapping time sheets for billing forever.

We become a paperless office, embracing the latest scanning and storage technology. No ties policy is introduced, relaxing the office vibe.

Charlton Baker Ltd is established, following the retirement of Rex Charlton.

Steve Little, our current Corporate Tax Director joins Charlton Baker.

We embrace the 'cloud' for the first time, joining forces with Xero and its' associated applications.
Jul 2013
Our niche Media and Entertainment service is formed.
Jun 2015
Acquisition of Farrant Frost accountants, also based in Pewsey.
Mar 2016
Our partnership is formed with US based media and entertainment experts, David Weise and Associates.
Sept 2016
Our new values, mission and vision are introduced, becoming a fabric of who we are. We introduce our 6 Pillars of Performance concept, giving our team the best support and care possible.

We acquire our HQ premises in Devizes, securing the future of the business in a great location.

Jenna Sartin, our current legal services director and head of legal practice joins Charlton Baker.

We embrace new cloud based practice management tech in the form of Accountancy Manager.

Acquisition of David Merritt & Co accountants, based in Royal Wootton Bassett.

Officevibe is introduced to help us better understand the pulse of the team.

Our Probate Licence is granted, setting us on the path of 'Accountancy Redefined'.

Proud to be Best in the West. In the year of the Coronation, we are crowned as winners of the Best Larger Small Business in the South West of England.

We secure our long-term funding partnership with Thincats to help us grow throughout the South West.
